Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using MockMate AI — from your first login to understanding your feedback report.

Getting started

Setting up your account

Do I need to create an account to use MockMate?

Yes — an account stores your interview history, onboarding profile, and all paid reports. Sign-up takes under 30 seconds with just an email and password. Your email is verified with a quick one-time code before your first interview.

Is there an app to download?

No. MockMate runs entirely in your web browser — Chrome or Edge recommended. No installation, no app store, no updates needed. Just open the website and start.

What devices does MockMate support?

Desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile — anything running Chrome or Edge. For voice recording, microphone access is required. The best experience is on desktop where you can see the full interview layout.

Can I use MockMate in Hindi or regional languages?

Questions are generated and feedback is given in English. Your spoken answers can include Hindi words — the transcription captures them. The AI evaluates clarity and structure, not language purity. You don't need perfect English to get useful feedback.

The interview

During your mock interview

How many questions are in each session?

Each session has 5 AI-generated questions for one round (Behavioural or Technical). A full two-round session covers 10 questions total across two separate reports.

Can I re-record my answer?

Yes — as many times as you want before moving to the next question. Once you click Next, the answer is locked in. Take your time and re-record until you're happy with the response.

What if I can't use my microphone?

A "Type instead" option appears on every question. You can type your answer instead of speaking. Voice practice is more realistic, but typing works perfectly well for reviewing content and structure.

What if I close the browser mid-interview?

No problem — your progress is auto-saved after each answer. When you return to the site, you'll be prompted to resume your draft from exactly where you left off.

How long should each answer be?

Aim for 90–180 seconds per answer. Long enough to cover the key points with an example, short enough to stay focused. The AI evaluates structure and content quality, not length. Rambling doesn't help your score.

Your feedback report

Understanding your results

What does the report include?

Your report includes: an overall session score (1–10) with a performance label, per-question scores across four dimensions (clarity, depth, relevance, communication), specific strengths highlighted with examples from your actual answers, specific weaknesses with context on why they matter to interviewers, and a personalised next-steps improvement plan.

How long does report generation take?

30–60 seconds after payment is confirmed. Your answers are analysed by AI simultaneously. The report is usually ready before you've finished reading the loading screen.

Can I access my reports later?

Yes. All paid reports are saved permanently to your account under "My Interviews." You can review them from any device at any time, as many times as you want.

Is the scoring fair for freshers with no experience?

Yes. The AI calibrates scoring to your career stage. A fresher is not expected to give answers requiring 5 years of experience. The questions generated and the feedback given both account for the context you shared during onboarding.

Payments

Billing and refunds

How much does a report cost?

₹29 per completed interview session. No subscriptions, no monthly fees, no auto-renewal. You pay only when you want a report.

What payment methods are accepted?

UPI, net banking, debit card, and credit card — all major Indian payment methods are supported. International cards are accepted too.

What is the refund policy?

Because reports are generated and delivered instantly, we don't offer refunds on completed reports. If a report fails to generate due to a technical issue on our end, we'll fix it or issue a full refund. See the full Refund Policy.

Technical

Browser and device issues

Which browsers work best?

Chrome and Edge. Both support voice recording and have been fully tested on MockMate. Safari has limited support and is not recommended. Firefox does not support voice recording.

The audio narration is not playing — what do I do?

Check that your browser hasn't blocked audio for this site. In Chrome: click the lock icon in the address bar → Sound → Allow. Refresh the page and try again. If the AI voice still doesn't play, the interview will still work — questions are always shown as text on screen.

Voice recording isn't working — what do I do?

Make sure you've granted microphone permission. In Chrome: click the lock icon in the address bar → Microphone → Allow. If it still doesn't work, use the "Type instead" option to complete your interview without losing progress.
