Group discussion (GD) — how to speak up without being aggressive

GDs are tough for quieter people. A few things that helped me contribute without talking over others:

  • Enter within the first 2 minutes — it gets harder the longer you wait
  • Build on what someone said ("Adding to that point...") instead of starting fresh
  • One clear, structured point beats three rushed ones
  • If the group is stuck, summarise — evaluators notice that

What's your go-to GD strategy?
